Yakasai was born on 5 December in the northern Nigerian city of Kano, Yakasai Quarters Kano.
He resides in Kano with his family. One of his children, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, was the social media aide of the governor of Kano State until he was arrested by Department of State Services at the end of February [3][4]
